How do you see yourself as a strong supporter of women empowerment and rights ?

Mayaa SH : To me women empowerment and advocacy of women's rights is about  gender equality and challenges societal norms that perpetuate inequality. I affirm and believe in creating a society where women have equal rights and opportunities.Challenging Gender Inequality is not a campaign against men but to project the intricacies in the system and society that deny basic human rights of women.Inorder to bring to light realistic situations more delicately my writings address issues such as gender bias in education, the gender pay gap, limited access to healthcare, child marriage, and gender-based violence.The importance of education as a tool for women's progress and upliftment is a must.Combating Violence and Discrimination is a must. I do campaign extensively and advocate for the elimination of gender-based violence and discrimination.

Advocacy for mental health, particularly focusing on suicide prevention and addressing mental health challenges among women and marginalized communities is also a must .Women Empowerment to me is also inclusive of believing in empowering daughters through education, which I see as crucial for their development and societal contribution.Actively engaging in initiatives aimed at uplifting women's voices and ensuring their rights are recognized and respected is essential in 21st century .I also put in efforts to provide financial support to children in schools, covering exam fees, books, and stationary.Advocacy for a shift in societal attitudes, encouraging families to support their daughters in pursuing diverse career paths has been my main ideology as stress must be there to highlight the importance of creating environments where daughters can thrive, aligning with international frameworks that underscore the necessity of gender equality for sustainable development.

Women’s empowerment can be defined to promoting women’s sense of self-worth, their ability to determine their own choices, and their right to influence social change for themselves and others. The five pillars of women empowerment are Education, Health, Security, Finances and Emotion. Education gives one the ability to think wisely and take thoughtful decisions. A careful reflection on Gender Discrimination highlights upon the fact that a society which discriminates between the two genders can never be empowered.

Discrimination based on caste, creed, religion etc. curtails empowerment as a developmental process which includes four stages: entry, advancement, incorporation, and commitment. Women's empowerment must aim to create a world where women have the power and freedom to live their lives, without discrimination or limitations based on gender.

Disadvantages in education translate into lack of access to skills and limited opportunities in the labour market. Women’s and girls’ empowerment is essential to expand economic growth and promote social development. Deconstructing the Call to Action to addressing Patriachial structures is a must .This  emphasizes that merely opposing patriarchy is insufficient in the current cultural context. It advocates for a more comprehensive approach to address injustices, encompassing secularism, minority rights, and environmental justice. This suggests a need for intersectional activism, recognizing the interconnectedness of various forms of oppression.

How do you advocate for legal reforms and women's rights ?

Mayaa SH : My ideology and work is characterized by self-assertion and empowerment, encouraging women to break free from social norms and assert their independence and agency. Her writings often embody a spirit of rebellion and defiance, challenging conventional views of women and advocating for a more dignified and honorable position for them .Addressing critical issues in contemporary society, particularly the need to awaken women and promote Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment (GEWE) is a must .At an individual level,my approach to feminism is inclusive and accessible. I do emphasize that feminism is not a derogatory term and that feminists are not necessarily "firebrands and bra-burning radicals meant to look down upon men and uplift women ,infact feminism is about gender equality ." Most of my projects involve use of simple language and multiple idioms to communicate feminist concepts to a diverse group of people, making complex political debates understandable .My ideology extends beyond writing; I am also a champion of women’s rights, a public intellectual, and a recognized crusader on various issues, including economics, freedom of the press, gender neutrality, and human rights .In order to give wings to awareness I have authored numerous books and co-authored many anthologies, earning global recognition and awards for my dedication and commitment to gender equality so that nobody is devoid of awareness and guidance during any tough time in life.I do advocate for comprehensive reforms that prioritize women's rights within the legal framework . I do push for reforms in matrimonial law, emphasizing the need for alternative dispute resolution mechanisms like mediation and arbitration . Many of us have also extensively spoken and advocated for the criminalization of marital rape and promoting legal awareness among women about their entitlements. I do believe that the legal framework surrounding divorce must reflect an understanding of both women's rights and to deescalate any tension between  husband and wife to maximum amicable solutions. I aim to empower women to assert their rights effectively during divorce proceedings and in all areas of life in a more positive and justified manner with logic.

How do you believe in women empowerment without looking back? What obstacles do you face while doing the same?

Mayaa SH : I envision a society where women have equal rights and opportunities, contributing to the overall development of the country.My ideology  aims to create a more inclusive and equitable society by dismantling patriarchal norms and promoting gender equality.I believe that empowering women leads to stronger families, communities, and nations.Women Empowerment begins with self belief from within and the fact that the word Impossible states that “ I am Possible” . Life will present you with challenges at every step , it is how we have to convert these into opportunities matter the most . You can win it only by upholding your innate right to be focussed and by staying diligent with respect to your goals and aspirations. The beginning of any work first starts with an aspiration. As soon as the desire arises, for its fulfillment, the mind starts planning for it through imagination. The intellect finds a way to fulfill the desire and in the form of thinking and contemplation, the seeds of innovation start being planted.What are we, what is our situation and on what ground do we stand, what are our capabilities? They should not be a marathon run only for a chase for ambitions without knowing and understanding them. Do not keep any imaginary assumptions about yourself or have any such aspiration which is not in accordance with your nature and against your own value system and set of beliefs that comprise the mettle in you.Life is a forward momentum, keep moving ahead leaving behind situations or opportunities that are no longer serving you. Few of biggest obstacles in empowering women are related to all gender gaps and inequalities pertaining to women's livelihoods and participation in the labour market through the creation of employment with secure incomes, which has been shown to advance women's empowerment and enhance their reproductive health.There are a number of indicators which can induce stress in women .However , the most common amongst them are financial matters , low self esteem owing to constant nagging and denegration of the basic dignity and equality as a human being , job security , health ,relationship matters.Experiencing crime or abuse even verbal ,illness , infertility , bereavement ,experiencing a loss of identity or period of uncertainty, poor access to services such as medical care, housing problems, such as poor living conditions, lack of security or homelessness are few causes of stress in women .
